As you're new here, the quick answer is that it's flagged out-of-date so one of the devs will update it when they have sufficient time and interest. If you need it in a hurry, build it yourself - all details on Arch package building are in the wiki.

Was more of a "is wine being ditched as an official package?" rather than "zomg need update". I just saw that the latest Wine version hit the repos, so all is well ![]()

No of course not. If it was "ditched" it wouldn't be left in the extra repo.

It can fall a bit behind at times, but it's far from being dropped. If you want a wine package that's updated a bit quicker than what's typically offered, this is the location the bin32-wine from AUR pulls its package from.
