id_rsa

I can SSH into my server with my RSA key just fine, but if I edit one character in the id_rsa file, it will still let me connect with the edited id_rsa. Is that normal? It only seems to let me login if I edited the lower half of the key. If i change a character in the top half, it doesn't let me login with it (which is normal). Any ideas?

Re: id_rsa

What character did you change? There is a user@hostname part at the end which is irrelevant to what happens during authentication.

Re: id_rsa

It was a bit before the username@host part. I just tried a random character somewhere in the middle.
