Re: I can't connect my Sony Ericsson w980

I bump into the same problem, dmesg shows the 'Sense Key' loop and no /dev/sdx is being created. Is there a fix for this?

Re: I can't connect my Sony Ericsson w980

Hi,

After entirely update my system recently, this problem is still here... :-(

You can try this udev's patch on Ubuntu forum:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=975622&page=3
but unfortunately it don't work for me.

I also tried modify the usb-storage module to add a unusual device entry for it, but still failed.
And now I just boot into Ubuntu live CD when I need to connect my mobile...

Re: I can't connect my Sony Ericsson w980

Hiya,

For me the udev patch also didn't work ... no other options, beside booting a Ubuntu live CD? smile

Re: I can't connect my Sony Ericsson w980

Um.. Yes, booting the Ubuntu live CD only in order to connect the phone is terrible for me too. Maybe if Virtualbox supports USB, it would be a handyer to boot a Ubuntu or Windows in it (but I'm not sure if they support that). If you have time and willing to try to fix this, maybe you should look at the usb-storage module :-) (adding a proper unusual entry? seeing what different between Ubuntu's and Archlinux's usb-storage module?).

Re: I can't connect my Sony Ericsson w980

I got same promblem with SE C702. It might be something wrong with phone firmware.

Re: I can't connect my Sony Ericsson w980

Nah, it works under Ubuntu and other systems, so i guess the firmware of the phone is not the issue here ...
