dialup and udev

does anyone know what the proper settings are for rc.conf with a conexant modem (with Linuxant drivers) and udev? my modem connects and stays connected..I have PPP and SLIP enabled in kernel...but I hit Firefox and it sits there..and times out sad I even tryied pacman -Sy and it resolves the hosts but can`t connect to any site) any help would be appriciated..is it a udev issue? or a rc.conf one?

Make sure no other connections are active (eth0 for example.)

It's been a long time since I used the Linuxant drivers, but I remeber have issues with kernel 2.6.x. Maybe those have been resolved.

my loopback is running..but every time I connect ppp0 is running also..I just don`t know how to tell Arch how to use it...I`m getting broadband next week from a different provider..but on another distro Linuxant worked well..for these days in between my broadband smile I just know its a stupid little problem..most likely udev I think..btw they actually recommend a 2.6XX kernel because of the improved ASPI..and the kernel likes the driver just fine according to dmesg

I've used the Linuxant driver with Arch, but i have used it with several other distros and never had any problems with it (besides with Yoper, but Yoper is nothing BUT problems.)

ok I messed with the options in /etc/ppp and now I`m writing this from my Arch distro smile

for one change auth to noauth...and the optoin about accepting the IP your peer says you have..man I miss DHCP sad can`t wait till next week smile
