I have a fresh install and have an unusual problem.
If I try to wget something I get 'Resolving www.google.com... failed: Name or service not known.'
Using links to get to the same site works fine and pacman works fine as well. This is basic eth0="dhcp" setup for networking and both my user and root get the same problem.
Any ideas?

Doesn't sound like that.
Here's the rc.conf
HOSTNAME="mycomputername"
eth0="dhcp"
INTERFACES=(eth0)
gateway="default gw 192.168.0.1"
ROUTES=(!gateway)
And my hosts is the unchanged from the default.

If you haven't already done so, see if disabling ipv6 has an effect.

I tried that. Also, I decided to try reinstalling from the FTP image instead of the Core image and the FTP image has the same problem.

So I went back and reinstalled with the Core image and I'm getting 'transient resolver failure' errors on all the US mirrors up to gatech.edu. I wouldn't have noticed this with the last install since that happened to be the mirror I moved to the top of the list. I also confirmed that I can pull down the core.tar.gz images from mirrors that don't work from other machines on my network.

My router acts as the DNS server so my resolve.conf is:
nameserver 192.168.0.3
Changing this to the IPs of the nameservers for my ISP fixed the problem.
Every other Windows and Linux installations have no problem with the nameserver being 192.168.0.3. Any ideas why?
