Install/run applications from an NFS share

I'm probably missing something really obvious, so feel free to kick me if I am...

One of my client systems is running low on space so can't install anything new on it, but the server has plenty so would like to put it to good use.  Looking to install multimedia & gaming apps, so X-forwarding doesn't quite cut it, so Is there a straightforward way to install a package to an NFS share of my choosing so that networked systems can run the application by calling the executable?  I haven't yet tried 'pacman -Sr' but it doesn't seem to be intended for this purpose.

Failing a simple oversight, I was thinking of setting up a chroot on the server, exporting that and calling the app with dchroot.  Would this work?

Any suggestions very welcome!
