NFS Problems

For quite a while I'm already struggling with this problem:
On the server user have access rights either by ownership or by group membership, just like any Linux system and everythings works the way it should be.
Via NFS (NFS3 as well as NFS4) the access by ownership as well as main group always works. The access by group works mostly for user with a few group memberships, but for other some group based access just does not work. Of course UID and GID match.
There is no tracable pattern for me. Sometimes the removal of one group membership solves the access for another group access.
Again: on local logins ALL access rights work well.
NFS-ACL is loaded and the mapping of user and groubs is looks correct.

Any experiences over here?
