I installed the new packages, too but there seem to have been no change at all (at least none of the gnome apps start und nautilus crashes on exit).
I re-filed the bug in bugs.archlinux.org.

I hate to add nothing to the party other than same here. Nautilus crashes on initialize and the Gome panels and icons have failed
Also, tried going back to the the original gtk2 2.6.1 which I had yesterday with no joy

Gnome seems to work again with gtk2 2.6.1-5 and glib2 2.6.1-4 for me. So thank you for fixing this problem!
But Anjuta still doesn't work for me. It terminates with this message:
(anjuta:26187): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_frame_compute_child_allocation: assertion `GTK_IS_FRAME (frame)' failedI'm not totally sure, but I think I had this error since gtk2 2.6.1. I tried to start anjuta in fluxbox and oddly enough it worked.
So I don't know where the problem lies in. Maybe someone could help.

Seems we introduced the same bug again, the updated patch was not committed in CVS, leaving us with a flaky gtk2 after the maintainer fixed some other issues.
Everything should be fixed with the latest versions on FTP
glib2: version 2.6.1-4
gtk2: version 2.6.1-5
