Hi,
I'm on a fully updated (as of before 24h) Arch PC which, till yesterday evening worked fine.
When I rebooted this morning it failed to get a dynamic IP address from the router. The following repeated 3 times till it timed out:
dhcpcd: eth0 hardware address XXXX claims 192.168.2.101
send raw packet: Bad file description
I managed to get connected by manullay assigning the same IP adress to eth0 , adding a default gw, and editing my resolv.conf.
Same errors repeated after resetting my router and shutting down my PC and disconnecting its power plug for 15 seconds (to clear any statics on the Ethernet card).
Net configuration:
Arch PC, with single wired interface (eth0) connected to Edimax router on 192.168.2.0 LAN.
Router, with 192.168.2.1 IP address, connected o ADSL "modem" and configured to provide DHCP services in 192.168.2.100-200 address range with unlimited lease period.
Please advise!
Thanks!
Michael Badt
