I am still working on the amarok issue.... i got it compiled now, but it segfaults on scanning many items of my collection...
Maybe you can try it out own your own?
I built Amarok against qtscriptgenerator-git (from AUR) and it seems to be OK for me....

I found out now that only the kde_bindings test from cmake crashes......
just commented out in CmakeList.txt and its working fine now, despite of a weird crash on initial scanning my Music files which I had to add one after one....

kdebindings are old (4.3.61). I'm not building them together with the rest, because in most cases they won't built, so I decided to skip them. In most cases it does not mind, in this particular case, it seems to be a problem. Maybe it's time for update...:-)

Thanks for the info...
And yes u are right, time to update... there are more version conflicts now... e.g. sip and python bindings are not in sync...

When can we expect new i686 packages? Ive noticed that there isa i686-2 directory but there's no kde-4.4-unstable.db.tar.gz in it.

remaros: Sorry, I thought I already released it...:/
For those who are interested in PKGBUILDs and build scripts, I put them into my Git repositories, so you can checkout them and build KDE on your own.
The build scripts are not mine!!!!! I use Pierre's KDE build scripts (just slightly modified).

Now they are there:) Thank You:)
Btw. pacman claims that kdegraphics-gwenview and kdegraphics-kamera are broken. Cannot install them.

Keep the old, they should still work. 4.3.71 is on the way...

Updated to 4.3.71. Enjoy :-)

4.3.70 packages are in i686 but 4.3.71 are in i686-2 ;] You forgot to swap folders, again
Offline
Nope, I didn't, it's not just all uploaded yet. It will swap automatically after uploaded cause I won't be here at that time :-)

Oh, sorry. Didnt know that. Thanks btw

I get still a lot of broken meta-packages... maybe you can fix in the next build?

So, it's here...the big time we all are waiting for. The new KDE snapshot requires Qt 4.6. I'm already working on it but it will take me more time so please be patient and don't stone me :-)

Hey guys,
just browsed through the folders on the KDE ftp server and found the source packages for KDE 4.3.72svn1035674
Hopefully they'll compile

Yeah, I know about them and they should probably compile, however I am now having trouble to build kdelibs against Qt 4.6. It's quite problematic because I decided to move Qt 4.6 to /opt/qt4.6 instead of replacing current Qt 4.5 (it would require all current qt apps to be rebuilt) and I have to rebuilt all KDE dependencies against this Qt 4.6 (like soprano, strigi, polkit, qca, simply everything that requires Qt)...unfortunately I don't have much time these days. I hope it will improve in following weeks and I will can spend more time on this. Sorry for keeping you waiting guys.
If you have any suggestion and/or will to help me, please contact me on Jabber/mail :-)

Qt is supposed to be binary compatible for minor releases, meaning that packages build with Qt4.5 should run fine with Qt4.6. I don't really see the need to have qt4.6 in /opt ... everyone running alpha snapshots should expect glitches anyway so we may as well test qt4.6 against all apps.

Wow, didn't know that. Thank you very much pressh.

Some packaging quirks:
Kdelibs seems to provide kdelibs-experimental, kdelibs seems to conflict with the xdg menus also saved in gnome-menus, and something or other depends on 'qca' or kde will crash back to kdm upon logging in perhaps half-way through the splash screen. I'm not sure what atm, but I will figure it out later if nobody else has, along with better descriptions of the above if necessary (ie filenames).
Other than this, works nicely. Hopefully I'm not repeating what someone else has already said, but I don't have time at the moment to look through this whole thread. Thanks for this stuff, progdan.
