A take on the arch logo

The embedded image is 60k, I'm not sure if that is considered big, the svg it links to is 4.3M though.

It is marvelous what one can do in order to avoid going to bed at reasonable hours...

Looks more like a zombie to me. His right eye is a cross, there's a little dot next to it that might be his nose, and a sort of smudge further over that's his left eye. BRAAAAINZZZZ!

Let the games begin!

Very nice.

Well, arch is what you make it after all. I guess it goes for the logo too... tongue

Re: A take on the arch logo

The svg sholud be easier to acces now, the server weren't configure to leave a content type for svg, so firefox didn't display it properly (wget worked though). This is now corrected. Cool edits volodiam.

High praise indeed from the one who designed & made the Arch logo.  But I agree it's a pretty cool and eye-catching rendition!

That really is a brilliant rendition... In fact, it now has it's own desktop!

Re: A take on the arch logo

Awesome!

EDIT: I'm just curious... how did you make this one? Hand-drawn and vectorized with Inkscape?

Re: A take on the arch logo

Thanks all ( has a warm feeling inside )
@Ghost1227: Nice! I think this is the first time something I've drawn has been used as a part in a project.
@thoughtcrime: It is all done in inkscape, the lines using the calligraphy/brush tool at different zoom levels and a small-ish wacom tablet. I began sketching on top of one of the original pieces in the archlinux-artwork package, until I had a feeling for the contours and shape. The colouring is made up from simple polygons.

Re: A take on the arch logo

The animation is an illusion, it just takes a while for the image to render, since it's a quite vector heavy picture, and not in raster format. (That or you are smoking the funny stuff tongue)
