so i built a dedicated web server last night since the sql database for the website hosted on my desktop went to hell. figured there's no better time than to migrate to a proper server. anyway, since i'm trying to setup a more proper server, i have a question geared towards how i am going to manage it.
the site is hosted out of the /srv/http folder. i noticed there's a /srv/ftp folder, so what ftp servers do we have in the repos that use that folder? essentially, i want to put a symlink in there to the http folder, or maybe make the ftp folder itself a symlink. but my concern is that whatever i use, i need the data permissions to stay with the http group, so as not to end up botching permissions from the internal management tools of the website...
did i say that right? any help appreciated. i think this is a quick one anyway
