Re: kde-snapshot repo

Updated to 4.3.72!! At least x86_64 repo. 32bit users will have to wait some time, I'm still building and I probably won't get to the computer in the next 24 hours to upload it.
ALERT! Since now the repo uses Qt 4.6!!!!. Qt 4.6 comes as an update to stable Qt 4.5 from [extra]. According to FrozenFox (and I can confirm that) Qt 4.6 is binary compatible with Qt 4.5, so you don't need to rebuild all your Qt apps against it. That cool, isn't it? :-) I didn't rebuilt any other packages.
Unfortunately due some changes in kdecore, kdebindings will not compile (and according to some web I found it may last till .82 or so), so we are still using bindings from 4.3.68 snapshot which has caused some Python modules (for example Printer Configuration in System Settings) not to work.

PS: personal opinion: graphics really seems to be a little bit faster then with Qt 4.5, for example switching background images does not cause Plasma to freeze for a while. But I still suffer from Plasma drawing errors - especially the main panel sometimes does not redraw well or some (random) parts of it behave like if someone "cut off" a piece of it. :-(

This could be caused by using graphicssystem raster....

Re: kde-snapshot repo

And last,

maybe you could include virtuoso backend in next build?

Here's nearly a howto: http://vizzzion.org/blog/2009/10/virtuoso-here-i-come/

and theres a virtuosopkg on aur....
Thats why i bothered for actual packages wink Really like to rebuild something ^^

Re: kde-snapshot repo

@git: I just pushed the current PKGBUILDs state. It may seem terrible and broken and whatever but it works. I know I should make some time and fix it and clear it and so on, but... :-)

@plasma: Thanks, I'll ask Google what to do about it :-)

Re: kde-snapshot repo

Seems that something went wrong with your pull...

No big problems, but they caused by something wink

qtconfig still points to /opt/qt-4.6 .... don't think you build with that config... maybe other PKGBUILDS differ? Still compiling virtuoso and will check later

Re: kde-snapshot repo

Yeah, the qtconfig points there, but there is no Qt 4.6 in that folder so CMake uses that one in /usr/. I forgot to remove it. You know the way - it works, don't touch it :-)

I thought Qt in [extra] was built with raster as default?

[EDIT] nevermind, I misread one of the Arch Qt patches.

Great! I've updated, and other qt apps seemed to work fine wink

To tell the truth, I don't like the new design of window decoration of Oxygen, the "Minimize", "Maximize" and "Close" buttons......

Re: kde-snapshot repo

Well, this repo has killed my regular kdemod. I will no longer use this repo, cause i had to reinstall whole arch linux because nothing helped. For more info here:

Re: kde-snapshot repo

I'm sorry to hear that , but there's nothing I could do. Also, the very first post in this topic encourages you to backup your ~/.kde4. And when playing with unstable stuff, I'd rather backup anything (especially when I know I built it myself :-) ).
Without more details, I will hardly ever find what is the reason for such behavior. It is possible there was still something left from my repo which has caused some incompatibility (libraries...?).
I'll try to make some time and test it, try to reproduce your problem. Once more, I'm sorry for that.

Re: kde-snapshot repo

Maybe we could create a group like the kdemod-uninstall...

With that you can completly remove all kdemod packages by kdemod-uninstall

something like pacman -Rd kde-unstable-great-progdan  could be nice big_smile

A very polite response.
Perhaps Big Red Warnings could be placed at regular intervals thru' the forum,
they're easy to ignore as well wink

Re: kde-snapshot repo

Releasing your favorite KDEMod killer version 4.3.73svn1040395!! x86_64 is available now, i686 update will follow later tomorrow.
I updated Qt 4.6 to Qt 4.6 beta 1 and replaced soprano with soprano-svn from AUR. I also made some fixes in dependencies.

Please report number of murdered KDEMod installations.

WARNING: This may kill your beloved desktop environment and/or system. Backups, backups, backups
