Hi,
I have Arch 2.6.31-5 running great on my 1005HA netbook, last night i was surfing the web using wicd-client. Today however when i fire up the system and boot into gnome i am presented with the following message:
Failed to run /usr/sbin/wicd as user root
Failed to exec new process: No such file or directory
Now i am confused by this as i am not sure what root has got to do with executing wicd client as a normal user??
Does anyone have any ideas as i am currently now without internet on my netbook :-(
My DAEMONS and INTERFACES lines in /etc/rc.conf look like the following:
INTERFACES=(!eth0 !wlan0)
DAEMONS=(syslog-ng !network netfs crond hal fam ntpd rpcbind gdm wicd)
Also just to note my wifi card is using the ath9k module but i don't think has anything to do with this problem.
Many thanks in advance

Have you tried launching the wicd demon from a root console?? Just to see if it runs??
And if it does, then run wicd-client as your normal user.
