rtorrent

after some upgrade (I dont remember when) I started getting this problem with rtorrent:

46) Handshake failed: 71.190.208.139:21354 - network error
(16:17:46) Trying again encrypted: 71.190.208.139:21354
(16:17:46) Handshake failed: 96.50.193.238:58752 - network error
(16:17:46) Trying again encrypted: 96.50.193.238:58752
(16:17:46) Handshake failed: 99.19.49.58:42179 - network error
(16:17:46) Trying again encrypted: 99.19.49.58:42179
(16:17:46) Handshake failed: 82.73.168.63:10052 - network error
(16:17:46) Trying again encrypted: 82.73.168.63:10052

as a result I cannot download/upload torrents efficiently (once every 40 handshakes one succeed...).

I tried to investigate the matter myself and was only able to find this link: http://www.mail-archive.com/libtorrent- … 00863.html
BTW: Is there a way to get older version of the current repository, for example how can I install gcc 3.4 instead 4.1 which is the current one?

Using other torrent client like vuze seems to work.

PLEASE, lets not start a debate about port forwarding: web sites like http://www.canyouseeme.org/ can see my service.

Re: rtorrent

I'm using mainly rtorrent-svn from AUR, and it's working mighty well- no issues at all.
Are you sure you aren't firewalled?

Re: rtorrent

Throttle  40/off KB] [Rate   0.3/  1.1 KB] [Port: 52412]
Success: I can see your service on 79.181.119.236 on port (52412)
Your ISP is not blocking port 52412 from http://www.canyouseeme.org/

BTW: installed rtorrent-svn from AUR and now it is even worse. in the past rtorrent was able to connect to some peer (1 in 100 maybe didnt get handshake failed) but now it wont connect to any peer.

Any suggestions?
