On the Archlinux netinstall LiveCD it worked fine. I installed arch (selected all avaible ralink drivers and stuff that have to do with wireless)
after installing the Wireless was renamed from ra0 to wlan0 and im getting
SIOCSIFFLAGS: No such file or direcotry
what happened? why does it work in livecd and not on the real system?

I seen, the same happens in Ubuntu 9.10
The W-Lan worked fine in Ubuntu 9.04 and does not work anymore in 9.10
in 9.04 it was ra0, in 9.10 it is wlan0
same error as in arch but wtf is this?

which driver are you using?? which wlan card?

I can not exactly identify the W-Lan card beceause lsusb says nothing.
Im using the ralink driver and on the Archlinux LiveCD the W-Lan will be detected as a RaLink and is aviable via ra0
i was able to connect to my w-lan and all worked fine until the installation finished
the wlan was, as i said, renamed from ra0 to wlan0 and nothing worked anymore
im going to look which drivers the LiveCD uses
The LiveCD uses rt2870sta and it works fine on the livecd

Which kernel are you running? rt2870sta works fine for me in 2.6.31 (a few previous kernels had issues with it). Also make sure that rt2870sta is actually loaded. And not having your card listed in lsusb is a bit strange..
