[SOLVED] rtorrent error on start

Just installed and configured rtorrent-svn. Was in it and added a .torrent, then immediately it closed and gave:

└─> rtorrent
rtorrent: Command "get_handshake_log" does not exist.

Every time I run it now it will go into rtorrent and immediately exit with the above.

Questions about specific applications can be asked here, but as a rule you're more likely to find answers in some resource associated with that application. This is particularly true when you're using development builds.

In this case, a brief google of "get_handshake_log" returns this from the rtorrent bugtracker.

Thanks a lot tomk, I forgot about that since I am using svn. In that link, I'm afraid I am wondering the same thing as those few users: how do I apply that patch? :S

edit: Nevermind, realized I just need to edit the appropriate files in the src dir of where I've got the rtorrent-svn build And I recompiled w/the patch, it works... thanks tomk

More advice - if you're using development builds, you really should know how to use some of the associated tools, like patch.

Anyway, glad it's working for you.
