My /etc/resolv.conf keeps changing to 192.168.0.2 (wifi AP) while it should be either 192.168.0.1 (gateway) or the opendns servers I had put in there.
relevant /etc/rc.conf settings:
eth0="eth0 192.168.0.125 netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 192.168.0.255"
INTERFACES=(eth0)
# Routes to start at boot-up (in this order)
# Declare each route then list in ROUTES
# - prefix an entry in ROUTES with a ! to disable it
#
gateway="default gw 192.168.0.1"
ROUTES=(gateway)
/etc/resolv.conf before changes:
nameserver 208.67.222.222
nameserver 208.67.220.220
after changes:
nameserver 192.168.0.2
I've disabled the dhcpcd service.

Simply put your preferred nameservers in /etc/resolv.conf.head. Whatever you write in there gets prepended to resolv.conf. The file has the same format as resolv.conf, namely:
nameserver xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
nameserver yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy
.
