Hi,
Just installed some new network-cables in my house. Have 2 servers in the basement and 4 computers in the rest of the house.
2 computers is using wireless but the others is using cable.
I attached the RJ45s myself and it seems to work just fine...or?
Is there a good tool that can see that all my packages sent in the cables are received and in a good condition?
I have used ping for now and no worries there but maybe a more advanced tool that can help me?
Any suggestions?

There are some tools listed in the Common Applications Guide:
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Com … s#Security
What may be suitable for your purpose is:
- arpwatch
- etherape
- iptraf
- ntop
- tcpdump
- wireshark
But what you could also do is transfer an Arch installation image from one machine to the other and verify the checksums before and after the transfer (they should be the same).
