Allow users to shutdown by chmod +s /sbin/halt [SOLVED]

That's the first entry in the wiki entry on how to allow users to shut down:
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/All … ay:_setuid
To me it looks like bad advice and I'd like to delete it unless someone can point out that I've overlooked something and that there is actually a good reason for doing it this way.

Re: Allow users to shutdown by chmod +s /sbin/halt [SOLVED]

I actually like puppy, but yes - I wish they'd bit a bit more security conscious. What bugs me about it is that it is often risking somebody elses data. Puppy, slax etc are distros I take with me when I don't have access to my own system, so I'll typically be running them on somebody elses hardware. So things like running as root or (like slax) mounting all available drives of the host machine - well, they make me type carefully.
