Bind installation hangs

[root@malik ~]# pacman -Sv bind
Root : /
Conf File : /etc/pacman.conf
DB Path : /var/lib/pacman/
Cache Dirs: /var/cache/pacman/pkg/
Lock File : /var/lib/pacman/db.lck
Log File : /var/log/pacman.log
Targets : bind
resolving dependencies...
looking for inter-conflicts...

Targets (1): bind-9.6.1.P1-1

Total Download Size: 0.00 MB
Total Installed Size: 7.92 MB

Proceed with installation? [Y/n]
checking package integrity...
(1/1) checking for file conflicts [################################] 100%
(1/1) installing bind [################################] 100%

Then it just sits there and I never get my prompt back. Hitting ctrl-c gives me "Interrupt signal received".

This only happens with bind for some reason.

Re: Bind installation hangs

strace could be helpful here. Install if needed, then do 'strace -o output pacman -S bind' and check in output if there is a system call that is never returned.

Works for me, by the way.

Good ideas do not need lots of lies told about them in order to gain public acceptance.
