You shouldnt need an xorg.conf. Just delete it all together.
To get the scroll wheel working you need to add: /etc/hal/fdi/policy/10osvendor/

I don't use an xorg.conf.  For the mouse and keyboard to work you'll need hal running (if you go the sans xorg.conf route).

if all else fails you can try this xorg.conf. It was working for me before. Its pretty generic and can be cleaned up quite a bit.(best option is not to use it though..)
you also need to have xf86-video-intel and xf86-input-synaptics installed.

I didn't know that X didn't need a config file anymore, boy has it matured.  I'm so out of the scene lately.  Work does that to you, I guess .  Anyway, still no luck.  I have hal running, tried the config file (got lots of errors) - thanks for posting it, tried with no config file ala startx, comes up fine display wise, but keyboard nor USB mouse work.  I checked USB mouse works fine with GPM.

So lets focus on no config file..
have you updated your system since install? (pacman -Syu)? Did you let hal start dbus on its own? dbus should start first, but its best to let the hal script bring up dbus iirc. and im assuming hal didnt error out on startup? if youve gotten that far, lets make sure you have the right modules installed for xorg. here is what i have on my s10.

Just wondering if anyone has found a good solution to getting the internal mic working.  I've used xubuntu until recently and I know updating alsa-drivers has worked on that for almost a year but that's a little painful.  It's hard to believe alsa-drivers that have been out for a year haven't been incorporated into the kernel yet and I'm hoping there's a configuration trick I've missed.

After more messing around with alsamixer, I realized what the problem was.  You have to make sure to toggle the capture switch on with the spacebar.  Other than that, everything gets set up about the way you might think it should.  If anyone else is having a problem, here's my etc/asound.state (You may have to unmute the Master and Internal Mic)  I usually keep them muted unless I'm using them.

Nice, some informations are basic imo (like adding audio to usr etc). With S10e (resolution 1024x576) the one problem is tearing. I tried to set h/r sync in xorg.conf but not working. If needed I will update the wiki.

I agree some of that is basic but I was going for Arch newbie friendliness.  I checked out your video kgas.  I have the same problem (on basic S10) but wrote it off to the machine being a little underpowered and the intel graphics drivers still being a work in progress.  If you find a fix, let us know.
