Re: nothing under /etc/arch-release?

It's normal. Back when Arch had releases, there was content inside it. Now, it's just an empty file, and anything that cares can check that it exists to know that the system is Arch.

Re: nothing under /etc/arch-release?

I kept the files on my installations... I liked the ring of 'Overlorld' and 'Don't Panic'.

Yes, we gathered that from your first post wink. It's there for historical reasons I suppose.

Re: nothing under /etc/arch-release?

Re: nothing under /etc/arch-release?

It has control characters in it IIRC, so hard to post. Get it out of the "filesystem" package.

Re: nothing under /etc/arch-release?

Release names are something to be missed ... smile Maybe they can try giving 'unofficial' names to install ISOs, just from sentiment big_smile

If everything else fails, read the manual.
