I almost lost a pair of pants and a roll of "Charmin" when I saw output from "xhost".
[skoal@morpheus ~]$ xhost
access control enabled, only authorized clients can connect
INET:localhost.localdomain
INET:444-333-222-111.xxxxxxxxxxx.com
LOCAL:
I hid my information for obvious reasons, "111-222-333-444" being my IP and "xxxxxxxxx" my S&TLD. Suffice it to say, all those lines are just my local information, not a remote one. For a second there, I almost swallowed my skoal.
However, "xhost" didn't use to display information like this. I've never used "xhost +". It used to display just something like this (by default):
[skoal@morpheus ~]$ xhost
access control enabled, only authorized clients can connect
Well, it will currently only display the last one like that if you use the "-- -noslisten tcp" X arg, which I do all the time. I just noticed this "xhost" behaviour recently since I was helping someone diagnose a DE problem and I had xinit'd the standard way.
That was a good one xorg. You almost got me on that one. Nice try...
