typing searches in the address bar

I used to be able to type search terms into the address bar, pressing enter would then send me to the google search page for these results, some time ago(can't tell exactly when, I was using a router configured with openDNS for a while, the problem only appears now I've turned off the router and moved my computer to be connected directly to the modem) I realised that I would be directed to my ISPs inferior search, and now I'm directed to yahoo (Don't get me wrong, I don't hate yahoo, but my connection is slow, and it takes forever to load yahoo with all those images and adverts).

I want to know if there's a way to get it back to what I used to have? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Re: typing searches in the address bar

OpenDNS has the same annoying habit, although there are some workarounds available. Googles "4times8" DNS server behaves correctly.
