The Official Install Guide, LVM and /etc/mkinitcpio.conf
Hi everyone,
from the install guide about mkinitcpio.conf (in the section "Configure System):
By default, mkinitcpio.conf is configured to autodetect all needed modules for IDE, SCSI, or SATA systems through so-called HOOKS. The installed should also have inserted hooks like crypt, lvm, keymap and usbinput if relevant. This means the default initrd should work for almost everybody.
I'd like to add that mkinitcpio.conf does not include lvm by default. I had to learn it the hard way - hehehe. So if you want to install your root system on LVM make sure you activate lvm in mkinitcpio.conf during the installation process. Otherwise your system won't be able to boot afterwards.
Maybe someone should add a hint on the wiki?

I think that is was this sentence is trying to say...
Maybe someone should add a hint on the wiki?
It's a wiki..... You're free to modify it...
It is clearly documented inside mkinitcpio.conf though.
