For example, right now I see the slashdot.org header, and firefox is just hanging trying to load something from doubleclick. I'm glad archlinux.org works...
I've tried all kinds of ways of setting up networking: dhcpcd, static, in rc.conf or using netcfg. dnsmasq...
right now I have a static ip. I have google's dns servers in resolv.conf.
It seems to be happening in firefox and uzbl.
As I was typing this slashdot finished loading. It took about 5 minutes. slashdot isn't the only site, seems like all the big ones with ads.
If I dig one of the ad networks that firefox is stuck on, it comes back fast.
Did I do something re: ad networks and forget about it? There's only the one line in /etc/hosts.
ipv6 is disabled.
Browsing works fine on the wireless (at home)
How do I debug something like this?

i've tried
the tcp window stuff from the wiki
no ipv6
options single-request
using google nameservers and the office's local dns server, which looks to opendns
using dnsmasq as local cache
wireless and ethernet
disabling ipv6 inside firefox
this laptop works fine at my house.firefox works fine in windows on this same laptop.
i don't know what else to check.
