actually i have been using >xtail< ... but root-tail seems to be MORE comfortable.
also xtail is unmaintained for some years ...

Gullible - that's just the xorg translucency - i notice you posted in that thread as well...so i'll check that out first...
fluxbox has this out of the box. fluxbox menu > Configure Transparency and yes, it uses composite not psuedo transparency

The answer is in the picture. ede -> Equinox Desktop Environment, a small env built on an extended fltk(toolkit) the whole thing is just 1.3MB as package.

I see the value of something like this, and it doesn't look all that bad, but Windows gives me nightmares. I fix about ten Windows computers per week. It's a job that never ends.
