help installing wireless on asus eeepc 900a

i can't figure out how to install wireless. help is greatly appreciated.

It worked out of the box (with the stock kernel) on my 901 - and according to the wiki page, should do the same for you. If you post more specific details about why you can't get it to work, we might be able to help you...

well i was just trying to figure it out, and nothing about wireless shows up in /etc/rc.conf
all it has is eth0

okay well i just followed the steps in the beginners guide wiki under wireless quickstart in the live enviroment, but i rebooted and its not connected, so how do i set it up so it will always automatically connect to the wireless network.

You might want to install a network manager like wicd or netcfg

ya i first posted it in the laptop secton but realized this was the better place so posted here, and tried to go back and delete the other post. But i couldnt find it. i tried to post in that thread saying i was getting help in this section but i accidently put im not getting help here. sorry to anyone i offended. but thanks ill give it a try.

okay ive installed wicd and when i try to run it i get the error Could not connect to wicd's D-bus interface. ive changed my .xinitrc from exec startxfce4 to exec ck-launch-session xfce4-session and i still get the same error. i have the dameaon hal added and the wiki says that should start the dbus

Have you tried the fix on the wiki page?

pacman -R wicd
rm -rf /etc/wicd /var/log/wicd /etc/dbus-1/system.d/wicd*
pacman -S wicd

nevermind i got it installed thanks for the help.

*edit* ya i tried the fixes but i went back and double checked everything and realized i didnt disable netfs.
