sharing mobile connection on archlinux

Hi,

When I'm not at home, I'm using an android mobile (HTC Hero) to connect to the internet through usb. From time to time, I'd like to share the connection. I'd like to share the connection by wifi from my archlinux (I could do that directly from the mobile but without security and battery is drained pretty fast in this case ~1H30 only), that would be a kind of hotspot. I didn't find any way to transform archlinux in a wifi gateway or wifi hotspot? Is that possible? That would be nice! big_smile

Re: sharing mobile connection on archlinux

Maybe I should do something similar to what's there :
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ad-hoc_networking

I can do that only with iptables?

How about encryption?

How about offering a dhcp server?

Should I create a virtual hotspot? (is there any free software to do that?)
