I have been on a lot of easy distros and though that it was time to move on. I downloaded archlinux amd 64 iso and burned it. Installed fine with a bit of trouble and just can't get the thing up and running. I can get stuff from the repositories and change config files but the wiki to me is not clear enough. I would like someone to explain to me the exact steps I need to take to get me all the things I need to have. I want awesome wm and to have a pulse audio server. Yeah I know that I don't know enough but I was hoping that I could get that here...

You run "adduser", "pacman -S awesome pulseaudio", put "exec awesome" in /home/$USER/.xinitrc, run "startx", follow the wiki entry on pulseaudio to get that working.

What's your problem, precisely?
Remember to post specific questions, with informative titles. Asking people to explain you "everything" is not going to work...

My problem is that x has alot of errors and hal isn't working correctly. I can't exactly remember the errors because I installed it last night and couldn't get it to work and overwrote it with debain.

We can't remember exactly how to fix it without error messages

If you're serious about installing Arch, read the Beginners' Guide first, thoroughly. It's in the wiki.
If you encounter problems, resist the urge to install another distro. Instead, come back here, and do as AlexS suggested, supporting your informative title and specific question with relevant error messages, log extracts, etc.

Ok i'm having a bit of trouble with the grub loader. This is the first time I put the boot on a seperate partition and it gives me error 15 witch means it can't find the file. I am on a live cd. I mounted the partition and looked through the menu.lst and everything was a valid file. Help?
