[tuxonice] invalid resume device

Hi,
I have this in my kernel line:

resume=swap:/dev/sda3:0x20e800

I alsotried with:

resume=file:/dev/sda3:0x20e800

And when I boot, I get "Invalid resume device swap:/dev/sda3:0x20e800" error!

Re: [tuxonice] invalid resume device

Are you trying to suspend to the swap partition or to a file?
Did you follow along with here?: http://www.tuxonice.net/HOWTO-2.html#ss2.5

Re: [tuxonice] invalid resume device

Maybe no-one uses it with a swap file smile. I use a swap partition myself. I must say I haven't hibernated in months though, just suspend and it gets the job done.

Re: [tuxonice] invalid resume device

I always suspend to disk [aka hibernate] in laptop. I used a swap partition but recently removed it and using a swap file instead. Guess I'll be re-creating the partition.

Re: [tuxonice] invalid resume device

Yeah, I use swap partition, too, so I don't know a whole lot other than trying to combine instruction on how to do it from the Arch wiki, the Gentoo wiki, and tuxonice's website. If you followed along with some combination of how those 3 places say about setting it up with a swapfile, not a whole lot I can offer, sorry.

Re: [tuxonice] invalid resume device

That's OK. I appreciate your help anyway. smile
Yes I did try all that. The only thing I didn't try is create a separate hibernation file. Maybe I will try that and see if it works.
