Re: WebDav

check the permissions on the directory. Does the "nobody" web user have rwx permissions on it? Is the directory itself rwx for that user?
What do you have for your webdav stanza section in apache httpd.conf

Re: WebDav

if it is the user "nobody" ...

chown nobody:nobody [directory where the stuff is]
chmod u=rwx  [directory where stuff is] # sets user(owner) -> read write execute (for a directory x means you can enter it)
chmod a=rx  [directory where stuff is] # sets all -> read execute
chmod g=rx  [directory where stuff is] # sets group(which the file belongs to) -> read execute

Re: WebDav

I don't know what directory you mean... User and Group are both set to "nobody" in my httpd.conf file.  So do I have to creat a directory called nobody?..  I have all my web stuff in the directory call...
DAVLockDB /home/httpd/DAV/DAVLock.
thanks

Re: WebDav

I set up the Auth directive but I get "HTTP error 401" when I try to log on using webdav.  I know the error mean a wrong password or user name, but I know they are bot right. here is the code that Cactus helped with.

AuthGroupFile /dev/null
AuthType Digest
AuthName "WebDav Dir"
AuthDigestFile /home/httpd/.htdigestA
require valid-user
<Limit GET POST>
require user game99
</Limit>

I'm not sure what the [b]AuthGroupFile /dev/null[/b] thing is.
