do U guys have some problem with a webcam on x64 ? coz I installed skype_32 from aur, and I can see my self clear in cheese, but skype don't want to link with webcam o_O

I used to use the bin32 version from AUR but I prefer using SIP through my ISP now. Much cheaper.

Install 'lib32-libv4l' and try running skype with
LD_PRELOAD=/opt/lib32/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so skype

I've got this in lsusb
bus 001 Device 003: ID 0408:03f0 Quanta computer and it's not Ricoh
and my user is already in video group, I was trying to find more information about that webcam, and I fount gentoo wiki, it saids
modprobe uvcvideo
mplayer tv:// -tv driver=v4l2but how I can link that v4l2 driver to skype???
PS: also I was trying to startup skype with this command...

@oGRE2080, some-guy94 said to do in other way and you did the opposite. i'll say to revisit some-guy94 post. NOTE the /opt/lib32 path

yeah man U right ! I have in video devices - hp webcam but when i pres test button, just 1 sec, and the skype is gone o_O

I am using a logitech c200, it worked out of the box for me, no configuration needed, plug and play as it were.

I don't get the point if I can see myself in cheese, but wtf with skype ? how do U guys think the problem is in the skype or in linux drivers ?

Camera works fine for me also, but I installed bin32-skype-staticqt from the aur.

sudo pacman -S lib32* bin32-skype and it worked (and works

I am using bin32-skype on a 64 bit arch installation, it works fine. My webcam is a Logitech quickcam pro 9000. I followed this article http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Webcam, so you might want to have a look at it.
