Hi all,
I found out recently that I can't send emails - thunderbird says something like "client host banned by Barracuda Reputation". My ISP insists that most likely I have a "virus" that sends out junkmail! I tried to tell tham I am using Linux but it seems to have no effect.
Anyhow, just in case, how can I check my machine for malware or anything that could cause Barracuda to ban me? chkrootkit doesn't seem to come up with anything, as far as I can tell at least.
My thanks in advance.

There's rkhunter too.

you could use wireshark to capture your ethernet's traffic and filter port 25 outbound traffic.
if the file gets too big within 24hs.. you are in trouble ![]()

After quick search in Google, it seems that you can check your IP's reputation using the following link: http://www.barracudacentral.org/lookups
If you have dynamic IP address, I suggest to simply reconnect to get new IP and forget about this.
If not, I guess that your ISP / Barracuda should be able to provide some kind of evidence of you being a spammer. Hopefully they won't send you to hell when you ask them ![]()
I work in "email filtering" company, and from my experience it shouldn't be too difficult to get your IP cleaned / whitelisted if you have static IP and don't send spam.

OK thanks for the tips - didn't find anything wrong but I made a clean re-install of the latest release just in case, since the existing install was aging anyhow....
