Hi, I really hope one of you guys can help me. This is my first topic.
I use both emesene and thunderbird a lot. I never had issues, however, when I'm at school. (Unsecured Network) I can't check my hotmail and live mail accounts from thunderbird, neither can I log in emesene.
The way I work around it is with a virtual machine with windows XP, I can check my mail and log in to emesene there. It's pretty weird and this has only happened to my at school.
One more thing, I use wicd to connect to wireless networks but it's not working with unsecured networks (such case as my school) it doesn't give me an IP. What I do instead is do it manually, like usual
sudo iwconfig wlan0 essid "X" key off ; sudo dhcpcd
I guess this is a wicd bug or something, but my real interest is in emesene and thunderbird.
I have 3 accounts, hotmail, live, yahoo. What's weird too is that the only mail account I can check is yahoo.
Help appreciated.

still hoping someone answers... could it be port related? does the original Msn messenger uses a different port than emesene?
