I'm using wireless internet on arch. It will detect a full signal to the WAN. But the ping time is incredibily slow. I cant even update the system, or connect to googles main page. Ive reinstalled the drivers via flash drive. And still nothing workings.
Any ideas appreciated.

Is your host name in /etc/rc.conf the same as the host name in /etc/hosts ?

Well In /etc/hosts i had it set to localhost admin... I took out the localhost part, and it seems to be working a little better. Im updating the system right now, and its got farther than it has been. And now I can load googles main page. I will give an update in a few minutes. If the problem persists, any other ideas?

Can you show exactly what is in both? You will need localhost there.

# /etc/hosts static lookup take for host names

#<-ip-address> <hostname.domain.org> <hostname>
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain admin
#End of File
And in /etc/rc.conf it says
HOSTNAME="admin"

Looks okay to me. Are ping times still slow when pinging your router itself or other hosts within your local network?

--- 192.168.1.1 ping statistics ---

There you go. The internet seems to be alot faster today. I think it might of been the host. I will update here in a little while.
