It was an old version of the /etc/mkinitcpio.conf file.
The new /etc/mkinitcpio.conf.pacnew works better but the following error is still there:

ERROR: '/lib/initcpio/ipconfig' is not a file
which: no nfsmount in (/lib/initcpio)
ERROR: '/lib/initcpio/nfsmount' is not a file
In my case this error is critical, as it makes my diskless machine with PXE unbootable
How do I get nfsmount included in mkinitcpio? Using the new mkinitcpio.conf and using:
MODULES="nfs"
HOOKS="base net udev autodetect pata scsi sata filesystems"
causes the mentioned error message. When I try to boot my diskless machine, I now get:
/init: line 113: nfsmount: not found
ERROR: Failed to mount the real root device.
Bailing out, you are on your own. Good luck.
/bin/sh: can't access tty; job control turned off
[ramfs /]#
The system gets stuck now and doesn't accept any input from my keyboard.
Anyone?

I've moved my question to a new thread, as I believe the OP of this thread got his issue resolved, since he didn't need the net hook after all:
http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php? … 62#p724262
Sorry about the noise.
Btw:
:: Parsing hook [autodetect]
error: /dev/sr0: No medium found
/dev/sr0 is your optical drive...put a CD in your drive and I would guess that this error would disappear. Or I suppose you can just ignore it
