Simple multiple cms (wordpress) instances for (apache2) vservers

Hi!

Does anyone here have multiple wordpress instances running (apache 2 virtual servers)?

I wonder what's the best solution… of course I want to share the wordpress installation and I'd like to have as few files to manage an instance as possible… and as few steps to go trough to add a new one. In this context I wonder if all of it can be done with a unified .htaccess or something, so just by adding another domain pointing to the wordpress files I automatically get another instance - or if there is something better

My knowledge about apache is still sort of rudimentary and I know almost nothing about wordpress… so before I start figuring everything out, it would be great if someone could give me a hint on which way to take, so I don't go into an entirely wrong direction to begin with (I'm not even sure, if I'll really be wanting to stick with wordpress or if I'll end up with something else - depending on how that stuff works out).

Thanks!
