Emacs cursor lag

Hi,

My emacs cursor has recently got a strange behaviour.  When the cursor inverts the character under it, it first clears it with a black square, and the white character is shown one long second after. When moving the cursor, the character comes back instantly non-inverted.

When using a blinking cursor, the blink delay is much shorter that the "show character" one, so the character almost never appears. Disabling blink mode makes a usable emacs, but not too comfortable!

It seems independent from the font or the color theme (I use none anyway).

Any idea? Thanks,
Eric

Re: Emacs cursor lag

The same story.

May be it was some gtk update who is responsible for it?

Re: Emacs cursor lag

No problem here. Could it be a video driver issue? I use nvidia 190.53-1 with the latest (x86_64) kernel26 2.6.32.10-1.

To know or not to know ...

Re: Emacs cursor lag

No sign of trouble here either.  Does the problem persist with 'emacs -Q'?

x86_64.  xf86-video-intel 2.10.0-1 and kernel26 2.6.33.1-1.

Re: Emacs cursor lag

I don't think so, I didn't update the video driver (xf86-video-intel) for a months.

However, I installed emacs-otf instead of emacs, and everything works well now.
