Archlinux worked fine for me until after I 'sudo pacman -Ssy' (or whatever updates Archlinux)
SIOCSIFFLAGS: no such file or directory / Could not set interface 'wlan0' up
I get this message after I try to connect to wireless.

Because your wireless device is no longer working.
That is the best answer I can give without further details, like your wifi chipset, the driver you're using, the encryption you're using (if any), etc...

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

If that is true, you should try being more Arch-like. This was your thread, where you were looking for help with your problem, and yet you thought you'd just fsck around with stuff like "Windows <3" and "I tried the command whatismywifichipset"...
I had written you off as a wannabe troll, and I won't be inclined to help you again. You can thank wonder and jasonwryan for digging you out.
