[SOLVED] How do I block websites

Hello I come from Linux Mint and in that distro, there was an utility called Mintnanny to block the websites I specify. I'd like to do the same thing but in Arch Linux. Please help me big_smile

Re: [SOLVED] How do I block websites

First, how is anyone supposed to know what "mintnanny" does? Please be more specific about what you want to achieve.

After skiming http://www.linuxmint.com/blog/?p=350:

redirect the websites you want to block to localhost in /etc/hosts.cof - e.g.:
127.0.0.1 www.microsoft.com

edit: damn to slow & typo
thanks schen, didnt realize this..

By the way hokasch, that links to a porn site, so maybe replace it with something like microsoft.com?
