I have my Linodes in Atlanta... It would be handy to have access to another Linode DC for testing etc

Thanks for it!
The eggdrop package from AUR seems to work here(installed using clyde).
And for the notices thing, i like the mailing list or feed more .
Thanks and greetings.

Might be worthwhile to learn Postgre, but I don't know what LDAP is. 'sup to you.

I got mine now. Thanks a lot.
I think for notices a mailing list or a rss feed would do.

I think I might actually go with Twitter. I don't have one but apparently everyone does these days and it looks perfect for what I want to do.

Yeah I'll go ahead and install bitlbee. Should be able to get to it sometime this weekend. I'm not sure whether or not I'm going Twitter just yet, but from what I understand each user on Twitter has a feed that people can subscribe to, so it won't be necessary for all users to get a Twitter account if it will be a problem.
Edit: Could you please explain how to set up bitlbee? If it is installed I would like all users to be able to use it. The documentation seems to suggest that a single installation supports only a single user because only one network is formed. Thanks.

SQL would be nice but I don't need LDAP.

It seems [wiki=bitlbee]information[/wiki] in our wiki allows multiple users.
I cannot confirm it though.

Wow, the community never ceases to amaze!
If possible, I would like one too, mainly as a bit of a learning experience. If, however, I find myself using it infrequently I will be more than willing to hand it over to another user. Oh, and no LDAP needed here (mostly because I have no idea how to use it and if I ever would)

I'd love one, for the purpose of learning to run Arch Linux on a server. As Hiato, I'll certainly be able to hand it over to somebody else should I stop using it frequently.
LDAP not needed.

Probably not the place to really ask, but, when I was looking at my .public directory from the browser, I noticed it looked quite different to the standard (and ugly) Apache directory listing page. Would you be willing to tell me how you did that? All I've been able to do with mine is add some nice icons
And many thanks again for the account. It really is appreciated :-)

I have sent my info by mail.
I prefer mailing lists for announcements. You could do an mailing list that is also posted to a blog with RSS. Then people could chose whatever they want.
