Keep losing connection (IP)

Hi,

I have "router" PC, that has two ethernet adapter (eth0, eth1). I use dnsmasq and shorewall. Eth0 get's IP from adsl modem (internet) and eth1 static (intranet). I have used this system for several month and had no problems before.

But now for some reason eth0 loses IP about 5-15 minutes after connection. Also I have to reset adsl modem to get IP. I don't have a another adsl modem yet, so can't try with another.

I remove router-pc and connected cable from adsl modem straight to my desktop-pc and there is no problem with the internet connection. Connection does not die every 5-15 minutes and I don't have to reset adsl modem.

Could there be something wrong with the router-pc? I ideas how to proceed with this problem?

Thank you.

Re: Keep losing connection (IP)

what do you mean by losing ip, do you lose your WAN IP or your LAN IP, do you have any iptables rules configured, is your adsl gettings its WAN IP from dhcp or ppp setup
