Cant see NAS in GNOME

Hello. Yesterday I had a friend here and he brought a NAS with him. I connected it to my router. When we was going to watch a movie from the NAS I couldnt connect to it. In GNOME there are a "Places" drop down where I can choose "Connect to server ". In there I'm used to see a "windows share" alternative. There wasn't any. When clicking on "network" alternative it did show nothing. I have a NAS myself. A WD MYBOOK world edition and have no problems with that. Last time we used my friends NAS there was no problem. I used the "windows share" alternative and connected with the IP. The annoying part of it is that it showed up immediatly when using a Win 7 computer. Is there any known problems after updating GNOME with windows shares. I have installed all the latest updates.
