Problems with Sitecom WL-608

Hello,

I've bought a Sitecom WL-608 and it does not work as it should. It seems to be recognized by Arch:

(I have to mention before that, "eth0" is a build-in interface, the stick will be used on another computer but since I have no internet there I post things from my laptop working with the same Archlinux build)

lsusb:

I have read somewhere that the WL-608 has a similar chip than the RT2870 which exists within pacman. I have installed the new version from AUR (see: http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=73964) and there was the same behavior (and also the same after "modprobe rt2870sta").

Then I found a thread which said that the drivers do not recognize the usb id and it should be added (http://linux.derkeiler.com/Mailing-List … 05041.html). If I look at the lsusb output this would make sense but I'm not shure and I don't know where I get the source because in the AUR files the file which should be changed is binary.

I hope someone has any ideas on this.

- Greetings

Re: Problems with Sitecom WL-608

I found the file which was meant in the package: common/rtusb_dev_id.c but the id was already changed...

Re: Problems with Sitecom WL-608

After two days of just trying out random stuff, I figured it out. I loaded the new rt2870sta with the Modules in "/etc/rc.conf" and excluded some, described here: http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php? … 13#p646813. After that I created a profile within the /etc/network.d folder and it worked!
