I can't confirm the speed regression since I'm testing it in VirtualBox and it has always been _VERY_ slow :-)

This snapshot seems to break up compatibility with older builds. I had to rebuild konversation, ktorrent and kdepim myself to get things to work. Before, I was able to use the builds from [extra].
Can anyone confirm this?

KTorrent has a missing symbol, so that I can confirm...I can see in kdelibs sources that there were some changes that are related to the missing symbol so all applications (or some at least) that are using plugins have to be rebuilt. I haven't tested it, but I believe that kdepim will be the same case. Konversation works for me, but that's maybe just that I don't have any plugins in it.
The related revision is 1125841 (/trunk/KDE/kdelibs/kutils)

Adding some broken apps and kdepim 4.4 to the repo may be useful for users who don't want to compile things for hours to get a working environment. I think that makes more sense than including the broken kdepim, noone uses anyway.

Purpose of this repository is to provide development snapshot of KDE for developers and testers, not a production-ready environment for users. You have to count with possibility that something will be broken sometimes. If you have problems with it, you should consider switching to a stable release. If you want to follow changes in KDE I recommend installing it into a virtual machine.
Finally to reply to your suggestion, I will not provide rebuilds of any KDE applications from [extra].

ok, but since kdepim2 won't get into 4.5 anyway and they say you shouldn't make bugreports for it yet, it isn't useful for developers and testers either.
What I meant wasn't a productive environment but one that isn't broken.

The server was down yesterday (host unreachable) and today (connection refused).

Hi,
I'm sorry, but I have to learn for my graduation exams which I have on July 2nd - then I promise I'll update repo asap.
Ad server: yeah, I was informed from Manuel that the server is being moved to a virtual host and it will be down for some time. There will be no updates for next two weeks so you will not miss anything and if you want to install kde-snapshots for the first time then please be patient and try again soon.

Ηuh? I guess they will upload the 32bit ones afterwards.
4.5 beta1 is badly broken, due to KHTML, which won't run.

can't you just use webkit? that was one of the features they added to Konqueror.

KHTML is being used by MANY apps in KDE, not just Konqueror

it says that the pkg kdeplasma-addons-applets-kdeobservatory-4.4.74svn1120032-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz and other packages can't be downloaded, so the update does not work...

Hi boys,
I finally built a new snapshot..I decided to package 4.4.80 alias 4.5 beta 1, although a newer snapshot (4.4.81) was released one or two days ago. I left the old (4.4.74) packages in repo so if the beta1 won't work, I'm able to revert the repo to the older.
I hate to do that, but I had to release completely untested build, so please excuse if something won't work.
I won't be able to provide any rebuilds and fixes for about a week now, so I'm asking you for patience..thanks boys :-)

So...here it is boys...KDE SC 4.4.82svn1133434 :-)
AND!! As a special surprise - in [kde-snapshots-extra] there are kdepim-stable packages with KDE PIM 4.4.4 built against 4.4.82. If you want to use them, just run
pacman -R kdepim-snapshots
pacman -S kde-snapshots-kdepim-stable
Have fun :-)
