Hello all
I am having trouble with my desktop clock not keeping time. I am dual booting vista and arch so have set my /etc/rc.conf to localtime I keep resetting the BIOS clock but the time keeps changing, at the minute I am 30 minutes behind. I have looked through the wiki but I am not show what the problem is. Has anyone any ideas?
Many thanks

If the clock in BIOS is losing time, it sounds like the CMOS battery on your mainboard is on it's way out.
Battery type: CR 2032

Yes I was thinking it may be the battery, although the machine is only three years old. I think I will replace it anyway see what happens.

Does removing /var/lib/hwclock/adjtime help?

Hi karol
I am not at the machine at the minute but will give it a go later. Are there any issues with removing this? I am always cautious when removing things.

None that I know of. It's also suggested in the wiki.

I'm doing that as well after I fool around with other OSs and nothing bad happened so far that I know of.
