Internet stopped working.

Hello,

When I booted up my notebook today, everything started out normal. When I tried to connect to the internet I've noticed it did not work. The network deamon starts as usual, I tried restarting it but nothing so far. Since yesterday I haven't modified anything, no updates.
Any thoughts on this? Thanks.

How are you trying to connect?  since it's a netbook I'm assuming this is a wireless connection?
first off, idiot check   many laptops have a small switch on the side that turns off the wireless card make sure your wireless card is on.
if that's not the problem, what software/method/network managaer are you using to connect to the network?

No it's not wifi I'm connected thru ethernet to my router, sorry I forgot to mention.

What do you mean: the restart fails, or not?

Please post more details: is dhcpcd obtaining IP etc.

The restar does not fail, nothing so far as in internet didn't work after. Anyways I solved it, thanks for aswering though.

Well the solution was actually my notebook being defective. I guess in this case marking the topic as SOLVED wouldn`t help anyone
