Dunno if this is the right place to post but I'm busy pulling my hair out.
Building packages via AUR etc that relies on source code being pulled from waix.dl.sourceforge.net is a disaster as it results in slow speeds, time outs & corruption.
How are the mirrors used determined as the pkgbuild file just specifies download.sourceforge.net and why do I end up at the waix mirror? How can I avoid this mirror at all cost?
I contacted WAIX and there is nothing they can do about it as the bandwidth is heavily contended for connections outside of Australia. This problem is not unique to me as I googled it.

Change the PKGBUILD to download from your preferred SourceForge mirror.
download.sourceforge.net queries sourceforge and they redirect you to what they think is your closest mirror (I presume based on your IP address and/or AS number). If they're pointing you to WAIX and you're not in Australia, you should contact them.

Way to many packages to change.

I actually spent some time last night in their irc channel and the problem has been resolved. See https://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/sourc … cket/11922
